Tips to Help You Prepare
for Your Upcoming Move

Start Saving Cardboard

Keep boxes from deliveries and ask your friends and family to do the same. You can also check with local businesses to see if they are looking to get rid of boxes. Sure you can buy them, but no reason to do that if you can get them for free!

Don’t Underestimate!

Don’t underestimate the time it will take you to pack. If you have the luxury to do so, try to pack your home in sections to order avoid feeling burnt out.

Pack Properly

Make sure to adequately cushion all fragile items and do not overstuff boxes. Clearly label all fragile boxes, as this will determine where they are packed into the truck.

Make Sure to Label

Make sure to label your boxes according to room or items contained. When your boxes are labeled, it makes the unloading go much more smoothly the day of the move. It will also make your unpacking much easier if all of your boxes are in the correct room already!

Check with Us First!

Check with us to see if all dresser drawers need to be emptied. Some dressers can be wrapped and transported without being emptied depending on their size and weight. This will save you lots of time!

Donate Unwanted Items

Now is a great time to get rid of unwanted items. Dropping items off at Goodwill or a consignment store or even a yard sale is a great idea!

Pack Essential Items Separately

Pack the essentials you can’t live without, such as your toothbrush and your cell phone charger, separately. You may even choose to transport these essentials yourself. It will save yourself from digging through boxes on the first night in your new home.
